Granite’s vision is to be one of America’s leading infrastructure firms.

Granite’s backlog of work totaled $2.0 billion at December 31, 2011.

Granite builds projects that improve the quality of life, connect people and communities, and create social value.

Government officials ranked Granite as their number one preferred contractor for road and highway projects and number two for transportation projects.

Our Markets

Our project teams represent some of the best in the industry and are focused on projects in the heavy civil, transportation, federal government, power, construction materials and pavement preservation markets.

Heavy Civil

We are one of the most experienced heavy civil contractors in the country. Our expertise in the heavy civil market includes site preparation, tunnels and underground networks, water and wastewater systems, grading and paving, mining, pipeline development, and mass excavation projects.

Transportation

Since 1922 our teams have built many of the nation’s largest, most complex bridge, airport, road, highway, rail, and mass transit projects. Our full-service approach incorporates traditional bid-build project methods as well as other delivery systems.

Federal Government

Our experience as a contractor for the federal government encompasses the building of dams, airports, bridges, roads, and security fences for the Department of Defense, Army Corps of Engineers and Department of Homeland Security.

Power

In addition to our focus on transportation infrastructure, we are leveraging our civil and management capabilities in the power market, partnering with clients, utilities, landowners, environmental agencies, and other contractors on projects such as steam generator structures and installations, hydroelectric dams and solar fields.

Construction Materials

Our vertically integrated construction operations in the West produce aggregates, asphalt, ready-mix concrete, and recycled materials for use on our own projects and for sale to third parties.

Pavement Preservation

Through one of our wholly owned subsidiaries, we work with customers across the country to provide the most versatile and cost effective way to preserve and protect their investment, using such methods as slurry seal, micro-surfacing, sealing and patching, and asphalt paving.
