Granite has been recognized by the Ethisphere Institute as one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies for three consecutive years.

Each year Granite incorporates thousands of tons of recycled rubber, asphalt, ready-mix concrete, and asphalt roofing shingles into finished construction materials, including asphalt concrete and road base for local roadways.

At Granite, we believe that the prevention of accidents is not just good business—it’s our moral obligation.

In January 2010, four Granite locations received the Clean Utah seal of approval from the Utah Department of Environmental Quality.

Granite is leveraging its capabilities and resources to pursue work in new markets such as renewable and traditional power.

Quality

Granite will efficiently deliver high-quality projects and materials that meet or exceed our customers’ standards every time.

Our Commitment

It is important that we build trust with our customers so that they can rely on us to deliver high-quality materials and projects.

We are committed to:

  • Maintaining management systems for key functional areas and continually improving the management of our quality objectives

  •

  • Systematically controlling construction and materials quality to ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and other customer quality requirements

  •

  • Responsibility using green technologies such as recycled asphalt pavement, recycled asphalt shingles, and warm-mix asphalt in a manner that optimizes environmental and cost savings while providing high-quality end products

Our Approach

Granite maintains companywide objectives and policies intended to ensure that our products and services meet or exceed the quality standards set by our customers. The Quality Management Plan (QMP) is the governing quality document for Granite. The QMP allows for flexibility and scalability to accommodate all operations in implementation. The QMP also includes metrics for defining and measuring success that serve as the basis for continuous improvement.

Dedicated quality resources include technical expertise throughout the organization, materials design and accredited testing laboratories, certified quality-control technicians, and professional engineers. Corporate quality-control database software for construction materials testing and real-time dissemination of quality reporting is also maintained.

Employee engagement in quality is obtained through training and involvement in the development and the implementation of quality initiatives. We increase employee engagement in quality by celebrating the value that our quality commitment creates for Granite, with project or materials quality bonuses and quality awards.
