Equipment Department

Behind the scenes at every Granite location, the Equipment Department is at work to guarantee the availability and performance of the company's fleet.  Mechanics, lube men, equipment superintendents, and equipment managers work diligently to maintain "The Granite Standard" on every piece of Granite iron.

Granite’s Equipment Department is responsible for the acquisition, maintenance, and disposal of all of the equipment in the Granite fleet, which ranges from cars and pickups to large tractors and scrapers. In addition to maintaining the $800 million+ fleet, the Equipment Department manages the equipment from a business standpoint.  This takes into account factors such as usage, production, and evolving technology. 

The majority of Equipment Department personnel work directly out of Granite East and Granite West locations, but the Corporate Equipment Department works out of Granite's corporate office in Watsonville, CA.  This group manages Granite's pool fleet, which includes large machines that move from location-to-location.

Equipment Department Career Opportunities:

There are currently career opportunities with the Equipment Department for both experienced equipment personnel and recent college graduates.  Internship positions are also available for individuals currently enrolled in technical degree programs.  Experience with heavy equipment is preferred.  Resumes and/or inquiries can be directed to:
