Granite Construction Northeast

GRANITE Construction Northeast Inc. (GCN), is a wholly owned subsidiary of Granite Construction Inc. In 2001, Granite Construction moved into the northeast market via the acquisition path. Today, GCN is positioned as one of the Tri-State area's premier contractors, with a diversified construction capability and an excellent record for completing high-quality projects on time and on budget.

Brooklyn, NYHighways and Bridges: Granite Construction Northeast personnel possess extensive experience in highway and bridge construction. They have completed numerous projects to newly construct as well as rehabilitate highways and bridges in the Greater New York City area, such as the Belt Parkway over Ocean Parkway Bridge and Interchange Replacement, and the Taconic State Parkway Reconstruction and Widening.

Marine: Many of today's most challenging projects include marine elements. Granite Construction Northeast's experience with marine projects such as the Port Authority's Howland Hook Wharf Extension project places it in a unique position to handle all elements that a marine project can incorporate.

Howland Hook Marine TerminalDesign-Build: Granite Construction Northeast has successfully completed more than a dozen major design-build projects in the New York Metropolitan Area, including the Grand Avenue Bus Maintenance Facility, and the award winning NYC DOT Belt Parkway over Ocean Parkway. Nearly half of GCN's backlog is attributable to this alternative procurement method.

Airports: Granite Construction Northeast has completed numerous runways, taxiways, aprons, roadways, and cargo facilities at JFK International Airport. GCN is currently working on American Airlines site development (Phase l-lll).

Grand Avenue Bus Depot Mass Transit: Mass Transit construction makes up the backbone of Granite Construction Northeast's body of work. GCN's experience includes construction stations, storage yards, platforms, track relocation, maintenance shops, fueling facilities, traction power, and signal systems. Granite Construction Northeast is one of only a handful of contractors qualified by NYCT to perform Signals and Systems work. In November 2006, the GCN team reached substantial completion on its Concourse Signal System Modernization and Enclosure Construction project six months ahead of schedule.
