In 2018 Richard Watts was appointed group manager of Granite’s newly formed Water and Mineral Services Group which includes Layne Christensen, Granite Inliner, LiquiForce and the underground inliner unit of Kenny Construction. Richard is responsible for providing the Group’s strategic direction while setting the vision and standards for financial and safety performance, as well as compliance, business growth, and employee development.
He joined the company in 2003 where he served as division counsel, assistant general counsel and General Counsel, which he served as until his appointment to lead the Water and Mineral Services Group.
Before joining Granite, Richard served as counsel to Jacobs Engineering Group, Inc. He also worked as an attorney for the firm Cokinos, Bosien and Young. Earlier in his career, he was a professional engineer for Turner, Collie and Braden, and also served in the U.S. Army Reserves.
Richard received a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University and received a J.D. from South Texas College of Law.
