Granite Awarded $22 Million Highway Contract in California

WATSONVILLE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Granite (NYSE:GVA) announced today that it has been awarded a $22
million
contract by the California Department of Transportation
(Caltrans) for the Highway 1 from North Aptos Underpass to Junction
Route 9 project in Santa Cruz, California. The contract will be included
in Granite’s first quarter 2019 backlog.

Scope of work includes the replacement of the old metal beam guard
railing with new concrete barriers, installation of new overhead sign
structures, repair of the overcrossing deck surfaces, and repaving of
the highway with rubberized asphalt.

Construction is scheduled to begin in April 2019 and be complete in
December 2019.
