Granite Veteran James D. Richards to Lead Heavy Civil Group

WATSONVILLE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Granite Construction Incorporated (NYSE: GVA) today announced that James D. Richards (“Dave”), a 28-year veteran with the Company, will serve as Senior Vice President of the Heavy Civil Group. Reporting to Granite President and Chief Executive Officer, James H. Roberts, Richards succeeds Dale Swanberg, effective October 25, 2019.

Richards most recently served as Granite’s Senior Vice President and Northwest Group Manager where he was responsible for providing leadership, operational oversight and strategic direction for the construction and construction materials business spread over six geographic regions spanning from Alaska to Arizona.
