Granite Awarded $25 Million Roadway Reconstruction Project in Utah

WATSONVILLE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Granite Construction Incorporated (NYSE:GVA) announced today that it has been awarded a $25 million Construction Manager/General Contractor (CM/GC) contract by the Utah Department of Transportation for the reconstruction of State Route 108 in Davis County, Utah, approximately 20 miles north of Salt Lake City. The contract will be included in Granite’s fourth quarter 2016 backlog.

Scope of the work includes the reconstruction of two miles of a three-lane asphalt roadway into a five-lane portland cement concrete pavement (PCCP) corridor with bike lanes and upgraded pedestrian features. Granite will install 24,000 linear feet of pressurized water/irrigation lines and 18,000 linear feet of gravity fed irrigation/storm drains, as well as remove 35,000 linear feet of pipe and install 120,000 square yards of PCCP.

Construction is scheduled to begin in February 2017 and is scheduled to be complete by November 2018.
